Intarsia

I have started my first intarsia project, a VW hat for Scott. I should have it finished within the next couple of days, so a picture will follow shortly. I found the pattern at Knittinghelp.com under the Free Patterns button. The yarn I am using is Wool of the Andes from Knit Picks.

I have also been working on Eris. The right side of the collar is almost finished. I haven't been knitting all that much this week as my stomach has been causing me problems. I have to go in for an upper endoscopy in a couple of weeks, hopefully they will find out what the heck is going on. I will try to post a picture of the collar soon.

Hobo Spider

So I came home last week to find one of these crawling up the wall near my couch. He eventually went behind the couch, which posed a problem as I knit on my couch. I went hours without sitting on the couch and then got up the nerve to move the back of it. I was glad I did as it was sitting right on the back. I got a broom and flicked it off the couch. It ended up on the broom, which was a good thing because I was then able to take it outside. I read an article at www.king5.com warning about the Hobo Spider. Apparently it is poisonous, although it doesn't sound deadly. But I think it can make you really sick.

Good Ridence to a Pain in the Keester

My car, which I've written about previously, has given me so much grief lately and is now not running is on its way to an auction this weekend. I am hoping to replace it next week. Nothing gets me stressed out as much as having car problems. I even had to miss the Seattle S N' B Wednesday because I couldn't get there! Now when a car gets in the way of my knitting it has to go.

I wish I could say that I have made a lot of progress on my knitting this past week, but I can't. I will try and post a picture of Eris tonight, although don't expect to see a big difference. I'm on vacation next week, so hopefully I can finish the collar then.

Lavender

A co worker of mine has a lavender farm in Eastern Washington. I bought some lavender soap from him and it smells wonderfull! If you would like to check out some of the lavender products visit Bywater Farm .

I am still plugging away at Eris. I don't feel so bad, after reading all the posts on the Eris Knitalong, it seems others have had to frog several times as well. Although none of them seem to be as dumb as me as to not realize I was knitting it wrong in the first place.

Eris Collar #2

Here is a photo of collar #2. I like the cables much better, although they are hard to see in the picture. I hope it doesn't take me 2 weeks to finish this one. I don't think it will. I am looking forward to tomorrow night and knitting with friends. I like getting out of the house to do something fun.

Eris Redone

I started the collar over and I am much happier with the cabling. Usually I don't have the patience for such things, but maybe with age I am learning to not sweat the small stuff. Speaking of age, my birthday is in a few weeks and I just realized that I am well into my middle aged years. Yikes! Time goes by so fast. At least I can continue to knit no matter how old I get, as long as I can see. And maybe I'm having a midlife crisis. I find myself wanting to improve myself in many ways. The first on my list is to get rid of my glasses. I'm getting contacts next week, and as long as I don't have to read anything I will be fine.

I will post pictures of the Eris collar later this evening. Hopefully doing it over will be worth it.

The Pain!

Well I caved and ripped out the collar I have been working on for the last 2 weeks. It tore me apart inside because I feel the last 2 weeks have been wasted. McKenzie helped me through it though. He always puts a smile on my face. I got over it and recast on. I think I will be much happier in the end having started over.

Time to Rip

Last night at Purly Girls Suzy pointed out to me that some of my cables are twisted. Ugh!! I don't know why I didn't realize that before. I wish the pattern came with a good picture of the collar. Anyway I have decided to frog and start over. At least I haven't started the body of the sweater yet, and I have only been working on it for 2 weeks. I have a weeks vacation coming up and I can catch up then.

Eris

I am almost finished with the collar on Eris. It has been fun knitting with the cabling. It makes it interesting. I hope to start the body of the sweater tonight.

The Brown Sable Sweater is blocking and I want to wear it this week. I still have 2 pairs of socks to finish. Maybe I will get them done this week too.

It's Been a Long Time

It's been a long time since I posted last, it seems like I have been away from home every evening for the last several weeks. I haven't had time! I have finished the felted bag, I didn't get a picture of it, but it is exactly like the one I made before. If you want to see it look back to March or April. I have begun a new sweater, Eris. I hopefully will post a picture of my progress later today. I love doing the cabling, even though it is a challenge to fix mistakes. I am planning on finishing up the Sable Sweater this weekend, I just have to redo the neckline and graft the arms. Stay tuned for pictures!
