Further Progress on Child's French Sock

At Seattle S N'B last night I made some further progress on the Child's French Sock. This sock is surprisingly an easy knit. I usually have trouble with a lace chart, mainly remembering the yarn overs, but I haven't had trouble with this one. Nancy Bush does not disappoint in her book Knitting Vintage Socks. Next on my list will be a pair for me.

Child's French Sock

Well I finished two projects recently, the Baby Bobbi Bear and the Irish Hiking Scarf (Sorry no pic). So I have started on another gift, Child's French Sock from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks, for my sister. Her birthday is coming up and I wanted to knit socks as gifts this year.

Happy Blogiversary

It was one year ago today that I started Knitting Circle. It has been quite a year for me and has been great fun! I've met a lot of local knitters that have become good friends, and learned a great deal more about knitting. I hope everyone enjoys the holidays!

Knocked for a Loop

I haven't posted in a while as I came down with a nasty flu. Today is the first day I have been out of bed since Thursday. The frustrating thing is I had a flu shot in October. I missed the company Christmas party at the Space Needle! Oh well, I'm just happy to be feeling well enough to knit.

Finished Bear!

I finished the Baby Bobbi Bear just in time for the birthday for our friend's little one. I have been in a panic as I was afraid it wouldn't be done in time. I'm not very good at embroidering the face, which is the only thing I am not happy with. I used Lamb's pride bulky and size 9 needles to knit the bear with. The pattern is from Blue Sky Alpaca.

Wendy Knits

No I didn't write it, but Wendy Johnson did. Her new book will be coming out in April! I can't wait to see what is in it. I am a regular reader of her blog, and it is amazing how quickly she can finish a sweater or shawl. Not only do we share the same first name, but our cats do as well.

Baby Bobbi Bear Picture

Below you will see the progress on the Baby Bobbi Bear. I am now working on the arms. I have decided to stitch the face with some tan yarn so that it will show up. If I don't like it, I can always change it. This project has been pretty easy so far, although hard on my hands. I have a little bit of arthritis and the size of yarn and needles makes it a very tight knit, which is necessary because of the stuffing.

Baby Bobbi Bear Progress

I have completed the body, head and legs. I like the results so far, and I will post a progress picture later today. I have abandoned the first bear as the yarn is not thick enough. I will start over using the same yarn I am using for this one which is Lamb's Pride Bulky. I need some advice as to what to use for the face, since the bear is dark brown. I think black won't show up and I can't use buttons as the recipient is 1 years old.

Christmas Tree

Tonight I went out and bought a Christmas Tree and decorated it. Considering it only took a couple of hours I am happy with it. Scott and I have been together for 12 years, living together for 8 and this is our first tree! It seems we never had enough room or money. Now I really am in the Christmas spirit!

This week I will be working on 2 Baby Bobbi Bears trying to get them finished up. I will post photos when they are done.

Secret Santa

Look what my Secret Santa made me! Two beautiful hand knit bags with gorgeous ribbon. Inside each one was another little present; in one were some Chiba needles (One can always use those), and in the other a Katcha Katcha counter (I have been wanting one of those forever). Thanks Secret Santa, who by the way was Stacia.

I got the snow I was hoping for, although I don't think it will last.

First Snowfall of the year Posted by Picasa

Snow!

Well I got my wish! Today is the first real snow fall of the year. Unfortunately I drove in to work today which means traffic is going to be terrible on my drive home. Hopefully there will be some left to photograph. Wish I was home with a warm cup of cocoa.
