Summer of Lace Continues

Finally I am able to get back to my lace project of the summer! Ene's scarf has been such fun to knit. I am on the 12th row without any major troubles, (if you know my history of knitting lace you would know what a major accomplishment this is). I really like the nature spun I am using, it is so soft.

Here is a photo showing the pattern a little more detailed. Sorry for the bad photos, I took them on my deck without using the flash. They came out a little dark.

I decided that while I am on vacation the projects I will be knitting on will be ones for me. Next week I will get back to the project I need to do for others. I'm having a great time so far!

Vacation Weekend

I am officially on vacation and having a great time! Last weekend I went to Gig Harbor to visit the family and celebrate birthdays. A good time was had by all. This is the view I had while knitting outdoors. My grandmother lives on the water and it was gorgeous.

I finally got the U of W scarf done and gave it to my brother-in-law for his birthday. Go Huskies!

Harry Potter, Not!

While I love the Harry Potter novels, I've been disappointed that people in the Seattle area see my scarf and yell Harry Potter! It is not a Harry Potter scarf, but a U of W Husky scarf for my brother-in-law. I need to have it finished by Sunday, so I am frantically trying to get it finished. I don't think I will have any problems getting it done by then. I wouldn't mind eventually knitting a Harry Potter scarf, but I think I would choose a different pattern.

Tom Cruise is Nuts

I usually try to keep my posts entirely about knitting, adding other things once in a while. Today I was going to use my blog as an outlet to rant about my feelings on Tom Cruise, but I will just refer you to the link in my sidebar instead. The site pretty much says it all.

On to bigger and better things - Tonight I am knitting with some friend at Borders Books. I am involved in a knitting group almost every night of the week as Scott works nights and I hate sitting at home alone. Every once in a while I have to remind myself that the house doesn't clean itself! What can I say I am addicted. Tonight I will be working on some Husky scarves I started several months ago. Of course the birthday party is next weekend and I have 2 scarves to finish. It is mindless knitting so I am sure I can do it. If not, they will have to wait. I am almost done with one of them, so pictures will be forthcoming.

Face Lift

If you read my blog you will notice that it is under construction. Thanks to Jessica I have a new banner! I owe her some sock yarn.

I have a couple of birthday presents that will need to be finished in the next couple of weeks, so that is what I will be focused on. Then it will be back to my many projects underway. I also have the felted bag for my friend Theresa! So much to do, so little time. Hopefully on my weeks vacation I will get those projects finished.

I hope everyone had a great 4th. My dog Mckenzie was a nervous wreck over the holiday. It sounded like we were under heavy attack here in Lynnwood, as fireworks are still legal. He is doing much better today now that all the noise has stopped.

Rerun

Most of the things I have been knitting on this week I have knit before, therefore I am not going to post pictures. I am making the red felted bag for a friend of mine. If you look back several posts you can see a picture. I am also working on the second sock of the Retro Rib Socks. It is knitting up much faster than the first using the Magic Loop method.

I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend! Tonight we are going to barbeque. I just love summer and eating outdoors. The weather here in the Seattle area is actually sunny and nice. We couldn't ask for a nicer weekend. I am enjoying the time off of work. Last year I was self employed and didn't take any time off, so I am really enjoying my new job. I get a weeks vacation this month in a couple of weeks. I can't believe I get a week off and get paid for it! Lots and lots of knitting will be done.
